About Alasdair Dougall

Alasdair studied a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Wollongong, graduating in December 2015. Alasdair is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.

Alasdair joined Kinslor Prince Lawyers in April 2022, having previously worked at another specialist immigration law firm for several years. Alasdair has a wealth of experience in immigration law, from family migration and employer sponsored visas to visa cancellation processes in relation to long-term migrants. His clients appreciate his warmth, attentiveness and dedication to their interests.

Alasdair assists clients with matters arising during assessment by the Department of Home Affairs, as well as representing clients in all stages of a review process, both merits review at the Administrative Review Tribunal and judicial review before the Federal Circuit Court and the Federal Court of Australia.

Alasdair’s passion for immigration law started when he worked as a volunteer paralegal at a community legal centre dedicated to assisting vulnerable clients access legal representation. Alasdair became intellectually engaged by the complexity of immigration law and the ways in which it is intertwined with other areas of law. He also came to deeply appreciate the significant impact immigration law has upon individuals.

Outside of the office Alasdair is an avid reader who is especially fond of historical and political non-fiction. He is a die-hard (some say tragic) Newcastle Knights fan whose proudest achievement is having converted his wife to the sport. Alasdair also loves to travel, but is just as content being home with his wife and the family cat, Happy.
